ENCOUNTERS WITH CANADA
Several youths from across Nunavut have travelled to Ottawa to participate in a week-long national program called Encounters with Canada, designed to introduce high school students to their peers from across Canada and to their nation’s capital. They tour Parliament and the museums, hear presentations related to the week’s theme, and sometimes go to a Sens game. Each week has a different theme: health & medicine, sports & fitness, arts & culture, first responders, science & tech, etc. so that students can also choose something that may interest them as a career.
